Today's Forecast

Breaks in the clouds are possible through tonight as moisture exits to the south and drier air moves in from the west with high pressure. However, winds will shift to the northeast overnight and allow for fog and patchy drizzle to return across the higher elevations. Wedging of cool air will keep highs in the lower to mid 60s east of I77 Wednesday to low 70s west. Skies turn mostly sunny to partly cloudy west, but clouds linger east-possibly through the afternoon.
High pressure continues to build in to the Two Virginias Thursday and Friday, bringing more clear sky to all. Overnight lows likely dip into the 40s for many and daytime highs remain in the low 70s west of I77 to mid and upper 60s east. By the weekend, temperatures will warm up as our wind flow shifts back from the southwest and highs should get into the 70s for everyone. An approaching cold front will bring back the chance for rain Sunday night into Monday morning and another deep trough will bring back cooler weather for the start of fall.
